In a significant development, the Zimbabwe Chamber of Informal Economy Associations (ZCIEA) has established a new chapter in the Gudhanga area of Chisikaurayi Village in Nyanyadzi territory. On the 15th of June 2023, 50 workers and traders specializing in market gardening joined as new members.
The successful organization of this new chapter was spearheaded by ZCIEA National Organiser Benita Goneso and the Nyanyadzi Territorial President. This initiative aligns with ZCIEA’s strategic focus on intensifying membership organizing and recruitment as outlined in its 2021 to 2026 Strategic Plan.
Welcoming the new members, ZCIEA expressed enthusiasm for supporting and empowering them in their market gardening businesses. The organization emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to strengthen the informal economy and create opportunities for all.
This expansion marks a significant milestone for ZCIEA as it continues to grow and make a positive impact on workers and traders in the informal economy.
